September is in full swing and we’ve entered the space where summer is quickly fading to autumn. At the shop, we’ve been reflecting on this seasonal shift and how it mirrors our own healing work!
During a recent Bible study with my co-workers, we talked about how each tree sheds its leaves in its own time. Before letting go, a hormone triggers each leaf to form a scab where leaves attach, allowing the tree to release the leaf without harm. This happens uniquely for each tree…just as it does for us. This metaphor reminds me we’re truly extensions of one another in this community — bearing burdens, celebrating successes and leaning on each other when down.
As fall arrives, I’m eager to inhabit this space more and enter a place of presence, alignment and connection with myself and others. Trauma can often cloud our relationship to the Creator who nourishes and sustains us and break the natural rhythms of our hearts. But through working at Sunday Seed and Market, I’ve found an environment and a pace that feels nourishing and sustainable. I feel incredibly fortunate to receive these revelations just as we welcome a new season!
Remember this: healing isn’t linear, and that’s okay. It’s actually part of being human. And just like trees, we grow and evolve at our own pace. Find a space that empowers you to strength and nourish yourself, then bloom once again.
